Microsoft Windows 7 ACPI Driver Hotfix: Installation Guide
Installation Instructions for Microsoft Windows 7 32-bit and 64-bit
Step 1: Download the Hotfix
Visit the Microsoft Download Center and download the "ACPI Driver Hotfix for Windows 7 64-bit" file for your system architecture.
Step 2: Extract the Files
Once downloaded, extract the contents of the zipped file to a convenient location on your computer.
Step 3: Install the Hotfix
Navigate to the extracted folder and double-click on the "ACPI_Driver_Hotfix_64bit.exe" file for Windows 7 64-bit or "ACPI_Driver_Hotfix_32bit.exe" for Windows 7 32-bit.
Step 4: Open an Elevated Command Prompt
Click the "Start" button and type "cmd" in the search box. Right-click on the "Command Prompt" result and select "Run as administrator."
Step 5: Install the Hotfix (Command Line)
For Windows 7 64-bit:
cd C:\path\to\extracted\folder InstallAcpiHotfix.exe /enable ACPI_HOTFIX_ENABLE For Windows 7 32-bit:
cd C:\path\to\extracted\folder InstallAcpiHotfix.exe /enable ACPI_HOTFIX_ENABLE64
