Granit Xhaka finds redemption at Bayer Leverkusen after Arsenal heartbreak

The Swiss midfielder has been a key figure in Leverkusen's impressive start to the season

Xhaka has helped Leverkusen set a new record for unbeaten games, surpassing Bayern Munich's 32-game streak

Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka has said that he has harnessed the pain of losing last year's Premier League title with Arsenal to fuel his performances for his new club.

Xhaka was a key player for Arsenal last season, but he was unable to prevent the Gunners from finishing second to Manchester City in the Premier League. The Swiss international was also criticized for his performances at times, and he was eventually dropped from the team by manager Mikel Arteta.

Xhaka left Arsenal in the summer to join Bayer Leverkusen, and he has been a key figure in the German club's impressive start to the season. Leverkusen are currently top of the Bundesliga, and they have set a new record for unbeaten games, surpassing Bayern Munich's 32-game streak.

Xhaka has been praised for his performances for Leverkusen, and he has said that he is happy to have found a new home at the club.

"I am very happy to be here at Leverkusen," Xhaka said. "I have been made to feel very welcome by the club and the fans, and I am enjoying my football again.

"I think I have found my best form here at Leverkusen. I am playing with a lot of confidence, and I am really enjoying my football."

Xhaka will be hoping to continue his good form for Leverkusen when they face Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
