Sergio Perez Wins the Canadian GP

Sergio Perez scored a dominant win in the Canadian Grand Prix on Sunday, leading every lap from pole position. The Red Bull driver crossed the line over seven seconds clear of the field, claiming his third win of the season and extending his championship lead to 26 points over his teammate Max Verstappen.

Verstappen finished second, with Charles Leclerc completing the podium for Ferrari. However, the race was far from straightforward for Red Bull. Both Perez and Verstappen suffered from early tire wear, and they were forced to make two pit stops each. This allowed Leclerc to close the gap and put pressure on the leaders in the closing stages of the race.

In the end, though, Perez had too much pace for his rivals, and he cruised to a comfortable victory. The win was his third in the last four races, and it marked the first time that he has won back-to-back Grands Prix in his career.

Verstappen remains second in the championship standings, albeit 26 points behind his teammate. Leclerc is third, a further 17 points adrift.
