MoveOn Launches Ice Cream Truck Tour to Give Away Free Ice Cream and GOTV for Harris and Democrats

MoveOn mobilizes volunteers to give away 25,000 scoops of ice cream ahead of Nov. 8

MoveOn, the progressive advocacy group, is launching an ice cream truck tour to give away free ice cream and get out the vote for Vice President Kamala Harris and Democrats up and down the ballot.

The tour, which kicks off in Philadelphia on Oct. 1 and wraps up in Atlanta on Nov. 4, will make stops in key battleground states including Pennsylvania, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Arizona.

MoveOn volunteers will be handing out 25,000 scoops of ice cream and encouraging people to make a plan to vote. The tour will also feature music, games, and activities for all ages.

"We're excited to launch this ice cream truck tour to bring people together and get out the vote for Democrats," said MoveOn Executive Director Rahna Epting. "We know that ice cream makes people happy, and we hope that this tour will help us spread some joy and encourage people to participate in our democracy."

The ice cream truck tour is part of MoveOn's broader GOTV efforts for the 2022 midterm elections. MoveOn has already knocked on over 1 million doors and made over 2 million phone calls to voters.
